Ernest Ray Forman Sr., 89, a long time resident of Elyria, passed away at his residence on Tuesday February 16, 2021. He was born on February 14, 1932 in Deerpark Maryland. Ernest was a veteran of the United States Army, serving from 1949 to 1953. Following his military career, Ernest worked as a Caster for U.S. Steel in Lorain for 31 years before retiring in 1986. Ernest was just a country boy that enjoyed: traveling, going to casinos, flowers, gardening, nature, animals, and living life to the fullest the way he wanted to live. Ernest was a member of several organizations, including: the AM Vets post #32 in Elyria, the Elyria Eagles #431, and the Local Steel Workers Union #1104 in Lorain. He is survived by: his son, Ernest Forman Jr. of Crystal Lake, Illinois; 2 grandchildren, Dylan Forman of Illinois, and Jessica Flotterod (Brian) of Minnesota; three great grandchildren, Emma, Everet, and Ethan; two brothers, Jennings Forman and Walter Forman (Mae), both of Florida; and by many nieces and nephews. Ernest was preceded in death by: his parents, Harlan and Vera Forman; his grandson, Travis Forman; and by his sister, Alice Jane Forman. The family welcomes friends to join them from 11am to 12pm on Tuesday February 23, 2021 at the at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. A private family service will follow the visitation. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria.
