Evelyn Jean Smith (nee Luce), 87, a long-time resident of North Ridgeville, went home to be with her Lord on Wednesday, July 30, 2025. She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on May 8, 1938. Evelyn graduated from Collinwood High School in 1956. She was a professional cleaner and owned and operated her own cleaning business for many years. Evelyn loved spending time with her family. When she wasn’t giving her family the world's best hugs, she enjoyed spending her time baking, listening to music, bible study, and being a prayer warrior. She was a member of the Senior Saints at the Cross Community Church in Elyria. Evelyn is survived by her five children, Robin Willis (Don), Charles Smith, Gayle Hannold (Gary), Jean Smith, and Amy Cabe (Dwayne); seven grandchildren, Amber, Justin (Jessica), Sara (Casey), Sean, Ashley (Joey), Nicolette, and Dayne; nine great grandchildren, Nathan, Reid, Charlotte, Ellie, Willow, Cyrus, Greenlee, Brodi, and Gracie. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 62 years, Don E. Smith; her parents, Norman and Alma Luce; and her stepmother, Dorothy. The family welcomes friends to join them on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, from 11am to 12pm, with the memorial service beginning at 12pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross.
