Floy G. (Griffith) Tollett

Floy G. Tollett (nee Griffith) 87, formerly of Elyria, passed away Tuesday November 24, 2020 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.  She was born May 21, 1933 in Smithville, Tennessee and lived most of her life in the Elyria/North Ridgeville area. She had resided at the Avon Oaks Caring Community in Avon since 2018.  Mrs. Tollett retired in 2003 after having worked as a school crossing guard for Elyria Public Schools for many years.  She also worked as a nurses aid for more than 25 years.  Mrs. Tollett was a Christian of the Baptist faith.  Survivors include: her son, James D. Tollett Sr. (Jane) of Oviedo, FL; her daughter, Patricia G. Miller of Spring Hill, Tennessee; five grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; three nephews; and a niece.  She was preceded in death by: her father, Lloyd H. Griffith in 1974; her mother, Jimmie Theo Griffith (nee Howell) in 2001; her brother, Lloyd T. Griffith in 2014; her son, Dana W. Tollett in 2016; a grandson, James D. Tollett in 2016; and by a nephew, Lloyd Keith Griffith in 2020.  The family will receive friends on Friday November 27, 2020 from 6 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The funeral service will be Saturday November 28, 2020 at 11:00am at the funeral home.  Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate.  Burial will be at Elmhurst Park Cemetery in Avon.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio in Lorain.
