Forrest Raymond Phillips Sr., 59, of Elyria, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at University Hospitals Main Campus in Cleveland on Wednesday May 20, 2026.
Forrest was born in Elyria on October 29th 1966. He had many passions but his favorites were riding his Harley, working on cars, racing, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren. One of his life-long dreams was to own his own shop and work alongside his brother. He accomplished that goal two years ago when he opened Phillips Truck and Trailer Repair.
He is survived by: his children, Amber (Greg) Cifranic of Elyria, John (Maria) Phillips of Elyria, Sara (Travis Henry) Phillips of Lorain, and Danika Phillips of Elyria; his siblings, Lester Phillips of Elyria, Edna Phillips of Elyria, and Mary Finlay of Elyria; his grandchildren Malachi, Cameron, Chase, Serenity, Aaron, Micah, Haliee, Vivian, Kloey, Jeromy, Emaleth, Sophia, and Greg Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by: his parents Lester and Christine (nee. Hurst) Phillips; sons Jeromy Gibson-Phillips, and Forrest "Bubba" Phillips; and granddaughter, Autumn Rayne Henry.
There will be a celebration of life Saturday May 30th, 2026 from 4pm-9pm at the Elyria Amvets 11087 Middle Ave, Elyria, OH 44035. All are welcome to join and the family would love to hear your memories of Forrest.
