Frank Shanko

Frank Shanko, 90, a resident of North Olmsted, passed away at St. John Medical Center in Westlake on Monday July 26, 2021. He was born February 11, 1931, in Braeburn, Pennsylvania. Frank worked as an inspector for the Ford Motor Company for 32 years, retiring in 1983. He enjoyed: fishing, hunting, gardening, and working on small engines. Frank was a member of VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville and St. Clarence Catholic Church in North Olmsted. He is survived by: two children, Glenn, and Christine; five granddaughters, Brandy, Cherie, Jessica, Pamela, and Patrica; and by three great grandchildren, Julian, Darian, and Luna. Frank was preceded in death by: his wife, Mary Ann in 2008 ; his daughter, Regina Rose; his parents, Frank and Rose; and five siblings, Louis, Helen, Raymond, Henry, and Florence. The family welcomes friends to join them on Wednesday August 4, 2021, from 4pm to 6pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The Funeral Mass will be at St. Clarence Catholic Church in North Olmsted, on Thursday August 5, 2021, at 11am. Father Neil Kookoothe will celebrate the Mass. Burial will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery where members of the honor guard from VFW Post #9871 will conduct full military honors.
