Fred J. Courtright, 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away unexpectedly on Friday June 26, 2026 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake.  He was born May 5, 1943 in Cleveland.  Fred was raised in Sheffield Lake and was a 1962 graduate of Brookside High School.  He has been a North Ridgeville resident for 43 years.  Fred worked as a city bus driver for many years for the former NOMBL in North Olmsted.  He was also a realtor with Russell Realty in Westlake for over 20 years.  A devout Catholic, Fred was a member of St. Teresa Avila Catholic Church in Sheffield and of St. Stephen Catholic Church in Cleveland and he served as a Eucharistic Minister.  Fred was also the current board president and guardian ad litem of Lorain County Voices for Children.  Fred Courtright is survived by: his wife of 44 years, Christine (nee Baranowski); his children, Michelle “Shelly”  Pruchnicki of Sheffield Lake, Frederick Courtright of Boca Raton, FL, Lori Craycraft (Jeff) of Lorain, Jodi Harstine (Jeff) of Guyton, GA, Teresa Robbins (Russell) of Bucksport, ME, David Courtright (Aimee) of Springfield, Victoria Anderson (Dale) of Warren, MI, Thomas Courtright of North Ridgeville, and Bridget Courtright of North Ridgeville; 24 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and his sister, Catherine Almon (Jerry) of Matthews, NC.  He was preceded in death by: his parents, Frederick and Mildred (nee Dicker) Courtright; and three sisters, Rita Thompson, Jean Manary, and Teresa DeGracia.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday June 30, 2026 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville.  A prayer service will be held at the funeral home on FRIDAY July 3, 2026 at 9am, followed by a Funeral Mass at 10am at St. Teresa of Avila Church, 1878 Abbe Rd. N, Sheffield Village. Father Edward Smith, Pastor, will celebrate the Mass.  Burial will be at St. Teresa Cemetery following the Funeral Mass.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Lorain County Voices for Children.
