Freddie A. Springman

Freddie A. Springman, 75, of North Ridgeville, passed away unexpectedly on November 24, 2025 at UH Elyria Medical Center.  He was born July 8, 1950 in Gary, Indiana, and had resided in Lorain County for many years.  Mr. Springman was a veteran, and served in the US Army.  He was a Merchant Marine on the Great Lakes and was employed as an engineer by The American Steamship Company. He retired in 2019 after 40 years of service.  Freddie loved spending time with his grandchildren, and his cats. He also enjoyed building things, working outdoors, and fishing.  Freddie Springman is survived by: his wife of many years, Barbara (nee Welch); his daughter, Jamie Otero (Antonio) of Elyria; three sons, Robert of Cleveland, James of North Ridgeville, and Leslie of North Ridgeville; and seven grandchildren.  Per Mr. Springman’s request, there will be no services.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to AMVETS.
