Gloria L. Hawley (nee Cobbett), 84, of Cleveland, Ohio, formerly of Auburn, New York, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday December 26, 2021 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights, Ohio.  She was born March 3, 1937 in West Hanover, Massachusetts.  Mrs. Hawley had resided in Cleveland for two and a half years and had previously resided in Auburn for 40 years.  She was a stay-at-home mom for many years but later in life she worked in a child day care center, did house cleaning and she was a senior companion at Westminster Manor in Auburn from 1996 to 1999.  She also served on the Grand Jury of the Northern District of New York. She was a woman of deep faith who was a prayer warrior and she enjoyed participating in Bible studies.  Mrs. Hawley was a member of Second Baptist Church of Auburn.  She also enjoyed crossword puzzles, walking and spending time with her children and grandchildren.  A very generous person, Mrs. Hawley also donated to various charities throughout her life.  She is survived by: three daughters, Lori Zajac (Taras) of Ft. Wayne, Indiana, Kathy Fleshman (Dale) of Cleveland and Lisa Hawley of Auburn; one son, Kevin Hawley (Tamela) of Corning, New York; and seven grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by: her husband of 53 years, Gene Hawley in 2014; one granddaughter; one great-granddaughter; four sisters, Phyllis Gardner, Rena Strachan, Dorothy Gardner and Mildred Manion; and two brothers, Raymond and Melvin Cobbett.  The funeral service will be Monday January 3, 2021 at 11:30am at Second Baptist Church, 1 N. Herman Avenue, Auburn.  Pastor Guy Rathmell and Pastor Brian Hill will co-officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church one-hour prior to the service (10:30-11:30). Burial will be at Pine Hill Cemetery in Throop, New York.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to either Second Baptist Church of Auburn, New York or to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
