Grace M. E. Helms

Grace M. E. Helms (nee Banaska), 62, a life long resident of Lorain County, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at UH Elyria Medical Center. She was born June 16, 1960, in Auburn, Michigan. Grace led a very spiritual life through her Lord, Jesus. She enjoyed writing poems, drawing, painting, shopping, antiquing, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren. Grace often volunteered at the Elyria Retirement Community, where she lived. She is survived by two children, Nancy Faith Ann (James McDonald), Joseph M. Delarwelle; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Albert Gajdos, Robert Franklyn Gajdos, Lillie Marie Gajdos, and Mathias Harley Joseph Brewer; four siblings, Catherine Lance, Ramona Smith (Robert), James Banaska (Connie), and George Banaska; and many nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bonnie Banaska; and two siblings, Esther Todd, and Ernest Banaska. The family welcomes friends to join them Wednesday, January 18, 2023, from 10am-12pm, with the service beginning at 12pm, at the at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.
