James M. "Jimmy" Boross

 James M. “Jimmy” Boross 72, of South Amherst, formerly of North Ridgeville, passed away on June 8, 2026, at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake following a long illness. He was born in Cleveland on October 20, 1953, to Imre & Helen Boross. He was raised in Lakewood, and after surviving a debilitating car accident in 1969, he graduated from Lakewood High School in 1971. Jimmy had lived in the North Ridgeville and Elyria areas for many years. He spent more than 25 years of his career in the family business, Boross Auto Body and Rustproofing - Ziebart Car Care, and later as a licensed cross country truck driver, commercial painter and more recently served as the maintenance man for North Ridgeville Community Care (NRCC) for many years. Through his work at NRCC he mentored community service students. Jimmy also served in the US Navy traveling the world on the USS Coral Sea. Jimmy loved music, teaching others guitar and drums, writing songs and for many years he had his own band. In more recent years, he thoroughly enjoyed attending and taking part in the men’s Wednesday morning Bible study at Sanctuary Church in South Amherst. Because of the love and excitement that Jimmy had for the Bible study group, the other men in the group referred to him as “Jimmy Joy”. James Boross is survived by: his dear friends with whom he made his home with for several years, Jim and June Yost of South Amherst, formerly of North Ridgeville; his sister, Suzana Boross-Mueller (Gerald) of Westerville, OH and his brother, Chris Boross (Sharon) of Port Charlotte, FL., half siblings Imre Szabo (Ilona Komenda)of Hungary, Maria Soffing of Germany, nieces Carmina Bischoff of Germany, Gabriella Szabo of Hungary, and nephew Csaba Szabo of Hungary, and brother-in-law Robert Hildebrandt of St. Pete, FL. He was preceded in death by parents, Imre & Helen (Huszar) Boross, sister Margaret Hildebrandt, brother Michael, and beloved Grandmother, Terezia Huszar. He is also survived by his dear friend in faith, Mindy. A memorial gathering will be held in the Sanctuary of Sanctuary Church, 114 West Main Street, South Amherst from 4 to 5 pm on Thursday June 25, 2026. A light meal will be served afterwards in the church fellowship hall. Memorial contributions are suggested to either Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake, or to First Congregational Church, 114 W.
