James W. Hylton Jr., 75, of Elyria, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday June 2, 2020. He was born in Madison, West Virginia on June 16, 1944 and has been an Elyria resident for over 50 years. Mr. Hylton was a veteran and served in the US Army from 1966 to 1968. He was a retired machine operator and worked at Dairy Pak in Olmsted Township for many years. He enjoyed fishing and gambling and he was an avid Cleveland Indians fan. James also loved vacationing with his family. Mr. Hylton is survived by: three daughters, Vikki Fitz (Dennis) of Wellington, Gwen Lindsey (Brian) of Amherst and Crystal Hylton of Elyria; eight grandchildren, Mike, Shannon, Gage, Tristen, Caleb, Jillian, Brianna and Nathan; three great-grandchildren; and by many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 48 years, Rosemary Hylton (nee Ellison) in 2017; his parents, James W. and Macil (nee Tyler) Hylton, and by a brother, Larry, who passed away in infancy. The family will receive friends on Saturday June 6, 2020 from 10am until the time of the funeral service at 11am at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Chaplain John Jackson will officiate the service. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Members from the honor guard of VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville will conduct full military honors at the cemetery. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Mercy New Life Hospice in Lorain.
