Janet S. Godfrey

Janet S. Godfrey (nee White), 67, a lifelong resident of Lorain County, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital in Avon. She was born December 12, 1956, in Weston, West Virginia. Janet graduated from Midview High School and obtained her associate degree from Lorain Couty Community College. She enjoyed researching her family ancestry, Star Trek roleplay, visiting lighthouses, and her beloved dog Layla. Janet is survived by her three children, Josh, Aaron (Cathy), and Kristen; her granddaughter, Penelope; two brothers, Phil, and Jerry; and two sisters, Cheryl, and Noreen. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Paul; her mother, Colleen; her brother, David; and her sister, Diane. The family welcomes friends to join them for a memorial visitation on Thursday, October 3, 2024, from 11am to 12pm, with the memorial service beginning at 12pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Janet will be laid to rest at Fields Cemetery in North Ridgeville following the memorial service. Pastor Dave Swartz will officiate.
