Janet G. (Neff) Kapelka

Janet Gail Kapelka (nee Neff), 84, of North Ridgeville, went home to be with The Lord on Saturday June 1, 2024 at Pinnacle Peak Assisted Living in Scottsdale, Arizona.  She was born May 8, 1940 in Cleveland. Janet was raised in North Olmsted and was a graduate of North Olmsted High School.  She became a resident of North Ridgeville 65 years ago when she married the love of her life, John Kapelka.  For the past 24 years she and John have been snow birds, spending the winter months in Cave Creek, Arizona.  Janet spent many years as a homemaker, joyfully raising her four daughters.  She also worked alongside of her husband in the office of their business, Performance Auto Clinic in North Ridgeville.  Janet was very involved in several local churches for many years, including the House of Praise in Lorain.  She loved to plant flowers and gardening, painting and doing crafts, ceramics, and her dogs.  In her later years she loved to color and do paper crafting.  Janet also enjoyed spending time in the warm Arizona sun and climate. Most important to her was her beloved family and spending time with her grandchildren. Janet G. Kapelka is survived by: her beloved husband, John Kapelka; her four daughters, Jackie Harris (Otis), Jo Ann Gleisner (Doug), Janice Monda (Patrick) and Jerri Kapelka (Massoud Rezakhani); seven grandchildren, Betsy (Kevin), Matt (Micah), Michelle (Ryan), Daniel (Alex) Jillian, Vince, and Cyrus; eleven great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, Spencer and Madge (nee Brown) Neff; her sister, Carol Hruby; and her brother, Robert Neff.  The family will receive friends on Saturday June 15, 2024 from 4 to 8pm and on Sunday June 16, 2024 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The funeral service will be Monday June 17, 2024 at 11:00am at the funeral home with Pastor Gilbert Silva from the House of Praise in Lorain officiating.  Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon.
