Obituary
Janet L. Shelvey, 78, a long time resident of Elyria Township, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at Elyria Medical Center, on Tuesday, August 22, 2023. She was born June 25, 1945, in Berea. Janet and her late husband Fred owned and operated F&J Contractors for many years. She enjoyed gardening, decorating her home and yard, and caring for animals. Janet is survived by her two children, Nancy Anthony (James), and Fred Shelvey Jr.; two grandchildren, Angela Anthony, Ashley Badorrek (Eric); five great grandchildren, Nina, Nora, Quinn, Caitlyn, and Drew; her brother, Richard; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by her loving husband of 46 years, Fred; her parents, Leo and Emily; and four siblings, Arlene, Leo, Evelyn, and Nancy. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
