Janis “Gramma Jan” Zydiak (nee Habanek), 68, a longtime resident of North Ridgeville, passed away after a long battle with her illness on Sunday March 7, 2021 at University Hospitals Elyria Medical Center. She was born on June 28, 1952 in Fariview Park. Janis was a collector of antiques, and anything bear related. She also enjoyed: History, gardening, baking, the Appalachian and Smokey mountains, crafting, Christmas time, and music, especially Bluegrass. Janis is survived by: her two sons, Cliff Winkel (Kathy), and Nathan Zydiak (Teresa Sheriff); three grandsons, Zach, Kyle, and Rhys; her sister Jeri; and by Dennis Zydiak. Janis was preceded in death by: her parents, Pep and Gladys Habanek; and by her brother, Joe. The family welcomes friends to join them on Thursday March 11, 2021 from 5pm to 8pm at Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd. A private family service will be held the following day. Pastor Kevin Crow of Harvest Ridge Church will officiate. Burial will be held at Ridgeville Cemetery in North Ridgeville.
