Jerry D. Snyder Sr., 83, of North Ridgeville, passed away surrounded by his family, at University Hospital in Cleveland on Friday December 27, 2024. He was born at home in Brighton Township on July 23, 1941. Jerry was a life-long resident of Lorain County with many of those years in Elyria, and he was a 1959 graduate of Elyria High School. Jerry worked as a line repairman and product specialist at the Ford Lorain Assembly Plant for 30 years. He was a life-time social member of VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville and an active member of Elyria AMVETS Post #32 and the Loyal Order of the Moose #778 in Elyria. Jerry was a former member of Elyria Eagles Aerie #431, and the Elyria Polish Club. He was an avid golfer who had eight holes-in-one, and an avid bowler, having bowled a perfect 300 game. He also enjoyed line dancing, gardening, going to casinos, watching westerns, fishing and hunting. Jerry was a dedicated family man and he will be greatly missed by his beloved family. Jerry Snyder is survived by: his wife of 47 years, Deloris (nee Siford); two daughters, Georgia Snyder of Elyria and Christen Gunder (Gaylord) of Wellington; three sons, Ronald Snyder (Shelley) of Elyria, Bryan Bartlebaugh (Jennifer) of Vermilion, and David Bartlebaugh (Kristen) of Elyria; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; a sister, Leanna Cassidy (Dick) of North Ridgeville; two brothers, Ted Snyder (Marion) of Elyria, and Donald Snyder (Fran) of Flushing, MI; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Debs and Sarah (nee Sutliff) Snyder; his son, Jerry D. Snyder Jr.; four grandsons, Andrew Snyder Sr., Joseph Brooks II, Jeffrey Brooks, and Cody Lee Snyder; a brother, Gordon Snyder; and a sister, Jean Miller (Dennis, deceased). The family will receive friends on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 4 to 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The Funeral Service will be Friday January 3, 2025 at 11am at the funeral home. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate the service. Burial will be at Center Cemetery in Rochester Township. Following the burial, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at VFW Post #9871, 6805 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville, starting at 2pm. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
