Joan Y Thomas, 90, a resident of North Olmsted, formerly of Waterford, Michigan, passed away at her residence on Friday, January 3, 2025. She was born on March 26, 1934, in Avon Township, Michigan. She graduated from Pontiac High School and later in life received her CNA certificate. She was a member of North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church in North Olmsted where she was a member of the We Care Ministry. Joan was also very active in the North Olmsted Senior Center, where she was part of the Knitting and Crocheting group. She was a voracious reader, and enjoyed traveling to see light houses, knitting, crocheting, diamond dot pictures, and jigsaw puzzles. Joan is survived by her two children, Bruce (Margaret), and Gloria (Terry); four grandchildren, Robert (Jessica), Jacob, Erin (Corey), and Brian; several great grandchildren; her sister, Zelma; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Charles; and her two brothers, Bill, and Jim. The family welcomes friends to join them on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at 11am for the memorial service, with light refreshments to follow, at North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church, 5665 Great Northern Blvd., North Olmsted.
