John A. Holt is survived by: two daughters, Sandra Crawford (Dennis) of Vermilion and Jennifer Knighten of Amherst; his son, Thomas Holt (Jacqueline) of Lorain; five grandchildren, Dennis Crawford Jr. (Julie), Ricky Crawford, Matthew Thompson (Colleen), Ben Knighten (Dinene) and Lauren Holt (Nick Baldwin); and 10 great grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Ethel (nee Clark); his second wife, Evalee (nee Sloan); his son-in-law, Paul Knighten; his parents, Merton R. and Daisey Bell (nee Ruff) Holt; two sisters, Barbara Hayes and Eleanor Dent; and two brothers, Raymond and Donald Holt.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday May 31, 2022 from 4-7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  The funeral service will be Wednesday at 10:30am at the funeral home.  Pastor Bob Wickens from Church of the Open Door will officiate.  Burial will be private at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted where members of the honor guard from VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville will conduct military honors.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the missions fund at Church of the Open Door in Elyria.
