"The legacy of heroes is the memory of a great name and the inheritance of a great example." John Theodore Trexler passed peacefully amongst loved ones, April 9, 2022. He was born December 31, 1947, Akron. A loving son, husband, father, grandfather, brother, soldier and friend, his legacy is eternal. He loved by example and without exception. He will forever be missed, but never forgotten. John was a veteran of the United States Army, and served in the Vietnam War. He was a recipient of the purple heart medal. John was a proud member of the North Ridgeville VFW Color Guard. He Is survived by: his loving wife of 51 years, Linda Trexler (Clack); four children, Susan Crum (David); Kathy Williams (Beau), John Trexler (Susan), and Dan Trexler (Cheryl); nine grandchildren, Austin, Kaelyn, Juliana, Madisen, Noelle, Hailey, Rebekah, Jenna, and Calan. The family welcomes friends to join on Friday, April 15, 2022, from 10am to 1pm with the service beginning at 1pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Burial will be held at Resthaven Memory Gardens, Avon, Ohio. Pastor David Swartz will officiate. Members of the North Ridgeville VFW post 9871 will be conducting military honors at the cemetery.
