Judith L Bennington

Judy L. Bennington (nee Mahnke), 72, passed away at her home on Monday February 17, 2020.  She was a 44 year resident of N. Ridgeville.  Judy is survived by: Her Beloved Husband and Best Friend, Don, to whom she was married just shy of 47 years; her dog, Heidi; Step-Children, Jeanne, John, Jonathan and Jesse; Step-Grandchildren, Sean, Sophia and Alauna; Sisters, JoAnn Wancata and Janice Paganelli; and by her Brother, David Mahnke.  She was preceded in death by: her Step-Son, Jacques; and by her Parents, Herman and Mildred Mahnke, whom she loved dearly.  Judy read her Lutheran Prayer Books every morning for years, and her Bible several times a month.  She lived her life as a true Christian.  Judy was a very caring person and she was devoted to her beloved family.  She will be dearly missed by all of them.  She graduated, with high honors, from James F. Rhodes High School in Cleveland in 1964.  Judy worked for the former Standard Oil Co. of Ohio and later for BP America, Inc. as an Executive Secretary and Personal Assistant to two CEO’s, a President and many other senior executives.  She retired from BP America (which had acquired The Standard Oil Co.) when their home offices moved to Chicago.  She then continued her career as an Executive Secretary and Personal Assistant by working for the Vice President of Personnel at Poly One Corp. and later for the Director of the Cleveland Museum of Art.  A private graveside service will be held at Lakewood Park Cemetery in Rocky River.
