Judy Kay Simmons (nee Norris), 73, of Elyria, passed away surrounded by her family, on April 2, 2026 at her daughter’s residence in Vermilion. She was born July 8, 1952 in Kopperston, West Virginia, and resided in Lorain County for most of her life. Judy was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School, and she attained her Associates degree in business from Lorain County Community College. She worked for 30 years at General Motors, first at the Fisher Body Plant in Elyria and then she retired from the Brook Park Plant in 2005. Judy loved gardening, shopping, and being outdoors in nature. Her greatest joy was to spend time with her family, especially her beloved grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by: her daughter, Sherry Evans (Mike) of Vermilion; two step-children, Kristen Crawford (Christopher), and Matthew Simmons (Liberty Joy); four grandchildren, Donald “DJ” Wymer of Seattle, WA, Amanda Beane (Ryan) of Lagrange, Savanna Wymer of Lorain, and Dylan Wymer of Elyria; three step-grandchildren, Christopher Crawford, Autumn and Summer Simmons; two great grandchildren, Wesley Beane and Aspen Donofrio; four sisters, Peggy, Patty, Sue, and Doris; and three brothers, Roger, Bill, and Jerry; Judy was preceded in death by: her husband, Lonnie Simmons; her parents, Edward L. and Geneva (nee Trusley) Norris; a step-daughter, Michelle Simmons; two sisters, Linda and Carolyn; and three brothers, Donny, Bobby, and Charlie. The family will receive friends on Tuesday April 7, 2026 from 11am until the time of the Funeral Service at 1pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev, Chuck Behrens will officiate the service. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.
