Lucian Taylor Vance, 81, of Avon, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Thursday January 2, 2020 at his residence. Lucian was born December 19, 1938 in Harts, West Virginia. He served in the United States Army from March 30, 1956 to January 31, 1958. Lucian worked for the Ford Motor Company in Brookpark for 35 years before retiring. He enjoyed watching poker on tv, horse racing, and dog racing. Lucian is survived by: his wife of 60 years, Karen Vance; two children, Robert (Marsha) Vance, and Roberta Vance; six grandchildren, Misty, Amber, Candice, Brittany, Mandy, and Briana; 17 great grandchildren; two brothers, Vernon Vance, and Howard (Ester) Vance; one brother-in-law, Paul Thomas; and one sister-in-law, Barbara Vance. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Ralph and Ethel (nee Nelson) Vance; three brothers, Ralph (Ruby) Vance, Wilburn Vance, and Herbert Vance; four sisters, Eurcle (Ellis) Watts, Virgie (Alvin) Richmond, Velvet (James) Lambet, and Cuba Thomas; by his sister-in-law, Eunice Vance; and by his grandson, Bryan Collins.The family will receive friends on Monday January 6, 2020 from 5pm to 7pm and Tuesday January 7, 2020 from 10am to 11am with the service starting at 11am at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Rev Chuck Behrens will officiate. Burial will be at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township, where members of the honor guard from VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville will conduct full military honors.
