Marilyn B. (Bratton) Anglea

Marilyn B. Anglea (nee Bratton), 89, of Elyria, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday September 19, 2020 at Life Care Center of Elyria.  She was born April 3, 1931 in Hoopeston, Illinois.  She had resided in Elyria for the past 12 years.  She was a 1953 graduate of Bob Jones University in Greenville, SC, and received her degree in Office Administration.  Marilyn was a dedicated pastor’s wife for 46 years, a church secretary for many years, and a typist at two different city newspapers in South Carolina and Virginia.  In her younger years, she taught business subjects at two different Christian high schools and at a community business college.  Her greatest love was for her Lord and for her family.  She read her Bible through every year for over 40 years, and she knew all verses of most hymns by memory.  Mrs. Anglea was a member of First Baptist Church of Elyria.  She also enjoyed baking, cooking, and having family game time together.  Marilyn Anglea is survived by: her husband of 66 years, Rev. Raymond G. Anglea; four children, Joy Anglea MD of Elyria, Rev. Steven Anglea (Patty) of Rumney, NH, Faye Hancock (Rev. Donald) of Mountain Top, PA, and Dean Anglea (Bronwyn) of Hamilton, MT; 16 grandchildren; and by 20 great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, Chlorice and Forestine (nee Kerschner) Bratton; and by a sister, Jean.  A memorial service will be held on Thursday September 24, 2020 at 11:00am at First Baptist Church of Elyria, 11400 LaGrange Road, Elyria.  Pastor Craig Golden will officiate the service.  Burial will be private at Butternut Ridge Cemetery in Eaton Township.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to First Baptist Church of Elyria.  Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
