Marlene M. Fowler, 58, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday December 4, 2021 at University Hospital in Cleveland. She was born August 15, 1963 in Elyria and was a long-time resident of Lorain County. Marlene was a 1981 graduate of Wellington High School. She was currently employed as a sales associate at Walmart in Elyria. She spent her entire career in sales, receiving many awards for her achievements. Marlene was a member of the Elyria Church of God of Prophecy where was very involved with the Ladies Ministry. She enjoyed making candy and, with her cousin, she had a candy business, J & M Candy. Marlene was also an avid crafter. Marlene M. Fowler is survived by: her daughter, Amanda Fowler of Elyria; four sisters, Amy Fowler of Elyria, Bethany Goers (Chris) of North Ridgeville, Rhonda Fowler and Samantha Fowler, both of Renick, West Virginia; and three nephews, Douglas Anderson, Kevin Goers and Barry Fowler. She was preceded in death by: her son, Jeffrey Q. Fowler in 2015; a daughter that she miscarried in 1999, Emily Anne; her father, Marlin Fowler in 2013; her mother, Elizabeth McAtee (nee Berry) in 2015; and a grandmother, Annie Mae Berry in 2008. The family will receive friends on Saturday December 11, 2021 from 9:30 to 11:30am at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. The funeral service will follow at 11:30am with Pastor Jeff Baker officiating. Burial will be at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. The family also invites friends to join them for the morning service at 11am on Sunday December 12, 2021 at the Elyria Church of God of Prophecy and at a luncheon following to honor the memory of Marlene. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Elyria Church of God of Prophesy, 11233 LaGrange Road, Elyria, OH 44035.
