Melissa Sansbury Obituary

Melissa “Missy” Grace Sansbury, 42, of Elyria, passed away Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at Metro Health Medical Center in Cleveland following a short illness.  Missy was born October 23, 1976 in Grand Rapids, Michigan and had been a resident of Elyria since 1982.  Missy attended and graduated from Murray Ridge School. She had Down syndrome and lived a full life.  She enjoyed music, swimming, art and being with her family. Missy is survived by her mother Elaine Sansbury (nee Hall); one sister, Marsena “Marcie” Sansbury; one brother, Bryan Sansbury (Sally); one niece, Tara Sansbury (Dick Byers); one nephew, Joseph Sansbury; one great niece, Lilah Byers; two great nephews, Ricky Byers and Aden Okes; several aunts; one uncle; many cousins and special friend and caregiver Beth Myers Wissinger.  She was preceded in death by her father Charles W. Sansbury and her grandparents Franklin and Dora Hall. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 1, 2019 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 12:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church, 11400 LaGrange Rd., Elyria. Pastor Craig Golden will officiate.  Burial will follow at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
