Miriam Boettner Obituary

Miriam N. Boettner (nee Good), 83, of Avon, went home to be with The Lord on Sunday May 29, 2022 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Medina.  She was born May 28, 1939 in Hayesville, Ohio to the Late Rev. Kenneth and Elizabeth (nee Behm) Good.  She had resided in Avon since 2018 and, prior to that, was a North Olmsted resident for 48 years.  She graduated from Eastern Christian High School in Midland Park, New Jersey in 1957.  She then went on to graduate from Baptist Bible Seminary in Johnson City, New York in 1961, and then received her Masters of Education degree from the State University of New York at Cortland in 1963.  Miriam taught kindergarten, a job that she loved, at  Webutuck Schools, Millerton New York, the Orchard Park School System of Orchard Park, New York and at the Amherst City Schools in Lorain County, Ohio.  She also gave piano lessons at her North Olmsted home for many years.  Miriam was a member and former organist at Abram Creek Baptist Church in Brook Park.  She was previously a member of, and involved in, the music ministries at Grace Baptist Church in Westlake and North Olmsted Baptist Church in North Olmsted.  She was a Christian and a serious student of God’s word. She led several ladies Bible studies over the years.  Miriam loved music, sang a great alto part and played several instruments, including the piano, organ and harp.  Along with her sister, she created the business Grace Notes, which listened to and reviewed all types of church music and then made recommendations to their client churches.  She loved humor and could deliver a well-timed punchline.  Miriam’s creativity was evident in her gardening, cooking and entertaining.  She loved spending time with her family and many friends.  She is survived by: her daughter, Sarah Boettner of Cincinnati; her son, Matthew Boettner (Janeen) of North Ridgeville; her grandson, Wyatt; her sister, Esther Heiland (George) of Bradenton, FL; three nephews; and several great nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Helmut in 2011.  A memorial service will be held Friday June 17, 2022 at 6pm at Abram Creek Baptist Church, 18664 Sheldon Road, Brook Park.  Pastor James Beight will officiate.  Burial will be private at Evergreen Cemetery in Westlake.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Abram Creek Baptist Church.
