Patricia R. Chapman (nee Maddock), 93, passed away on Sunday October 31, 2021 at the Lutheran Home at Concord Reserve in Westlake, following the complications of a stroke and multiple subsequent strokes. She was born December 31, 1927 in Cleveland. Patricia was raised in North Ridgeville on Maddock Road and was a graduate of North Ridgeville High School. She also attended classes at Lorain County Community College. She resided in Elyria for many years. Patricia also lived in Hamilton, Ohio from 1979 to 1993 while she was employed at International Papers/Champion International and from where she retired on January 1, 1993. She also formerly worked at Ridge Tool Company in Elyria and at Dairypak in Olmsted Falls. Patricia was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in North Ridgeville. She was an avid sports fan, especially the Cleveland Indians, the Cleveland Browns, Ohio State Sports and NASCAR. Patricia enjoyed reading, traveling, including taking bus trips, and feeding her backyard animals. Patricia R. Chapman is survived by: her son, Kenneth Chapman (Laura); her daughter, Lorraine Taranto; three grandchildren, David Taranto (Teresa), James Taranto (Calley) and Brenda Taranto; one great-granddaughter, Juniper Taranto; a great-grandson, who was born October 29, 2021; and her two brothers, DeWitte Maddock and Dean Maddock. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Kenneth H. Chapman; her parents, DeWitte and Edith (nee Hamlin) Maddock; two daughters, Patricia and Sharon Chapman; and two brothers, Douglas and Darrell Maddock. The family will receive friends on Thursday November 4, 2021 from 4pm until the time of the funeral service at 5pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Pastor Darrell Deer will officiate the service. Burial will be private at Ridgeville Cemetery in North Ridgeville. In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ in North Ridgeville.
