Patricia S. "Patty" (Diederich) Gaines

Patricia S. “Patty” Gaines (nee Diederich), 55, a life-long resident of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully on Sunday October 20, 2024 at Fairview Hospital in Cleveland following a short illness.  She was born August 29, 1969 in Lakewood and was a 1987 graduate of North Ridgeville High School.  She was employed at Kaman Corporation in Avon.  Patty loved family gatherings and especially enjoyed hosting Christmas.  She also enjoyed board games, card games, her cats, dancing, and spending time with her friends and family.  Most of all she enjoyed and cherished the time spent with her son who was truly the apple of her eye.  Patty was always willing to offer a helping hand to anyone and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her.  Patty is survived by: her son, Jeremy Gaines; two brothers, Dean (Shelley) and Mike (Lisa) Diederich; aunts, Shirley Capel and Annie McCoy; her uncle, John (Joyce) Snyder; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.  She was preceded in death by: her mother, Marian Diederich (nee Snyder); her father, Robert Diederich; and her sister, Diane Pritchard. The family will receive friends on Friday October 25, 2024 from 5pm until the time of the funeral service at 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville.  Family friend, Mr. Frank Vacha, will officiate the service.  The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Cleveland Clinic Hospice.
