Patrick J. Lavery, 76, a long-time resident of North Ridgeville, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday January 7, 2020 at the Louis Stokes VA Medical Center in Cleveland. Patrick was born on January 27, 1943 in Akron and was a 1962 graduate of John R Buchtel High School in Akron. He served in the United States Navy from January 1963 to February 1967. Patrick worked for Januzzi’s Shoes as a shoe salesman where he met his late wife Billie. Patrick later became a small business owner, running the Perfect Clean Janitorial Service. He enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and he was a member of the American Legion Post 12 in Elyria. Pat also attended New Community Baptist Church in North Ridgeville. Patrick Lavery is survived by: his two children, Terrie Cape (Chad), and Chris Lavery (Tricia); four grandchildren, Nico Cape (Stephanie), Summer Cape, Finnegan Lavery, and Maeve Lavery; and by one great grandchild, Callie Cape. He was preceded in death by: his wife of 49 years, Billie Lynn Lavery; and his Parents, Charles and Eileen Lavery. A Graveside service will be held on Wednesday January 15, 2020 at 2pm at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, 44805 N. Ridge Rd., Amherst. Pastor Brian Gardiner will officiate. The Honor Guard from VFW Post #9871 in North Ridgeville, will conduct military honors at the cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to a veteran’s association of their choice. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to his long-time health care assistant, Michelle.
