Officer Phillip Corbet Wagner, 35, a resident of North Ridgeville, passed away honorably in the line of duty, surrounded by his loving family and fellow officers on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland. He was born September 1, 1989, in Flagstaff, Arizona. Phil was a combat veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served two tours, including one in Afghanistan. He served as an officer for the Lorain Police Department for four years and previously served as an officer for the Sheffield Village Police Department for four years. Phil was an avid gamer, enjoyed watching baseball and hockey, and loved relaxing with family and friends at BBQs. Phil is survived by his loving wife of ten years; three children; his mother; his brother and sister; his sister-in-law; and his nephew. He was preceded in death by his father. The funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 30, at the Rocket Arena in Cleveland. The family deeply appreciates the outpouring of community support, and would like everyone to know that they can continue to participate by viewing the services which will be televised live. Pastor Josh Smith will officiate. Phil will receive full military honors. Following the services, the family will have a private burial service. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly encourages that memorial contributions may be made to The Fraternal Order of Police of Ohio.
