Ralph E. Thompson, 87, a long time resident of North Ridgeville, passed away on Monday, August 2, 2023, at O’Neill Health Care, in North Ridgeville. He was born May 12, 1936, in Columbus. Ralph was a veteran of the United States Army, during his deployment, he was stationed in Germany. Ralph worked as a field supervisor in construction for 18 years before retiring. He enjoyed attending church, camping, bowling, and doing foreign missions work, where he traveled to Haiti, Germany, and Mexico. Ralph is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jewel Thompson (nee Reed); three children, Mark Thompson of Olmsted Twp; Kerri Burns of High Point, NC; and Laura Ray of Columbus; nine grandchildren; and his sister, Lois Seager of Columbus. He was preceded by his son Kenneth Sherrin, his Daughter Deborah Sherrin; and 8 siblings, Glenn Thompson, Genise Pence, Rutledge Thompson, Utridge Thompson, Hubert Thompson, Yvonne Glass, and Eugene Thompson. The family welcomes friends to join them on Tuesday August 8, 2023, from 11:30am to 12:45pm at River Church of God, 6000 Lear Nagle Rd., North Ridgeville, with the service beginning at 12:45. Pastor Justin Reed will officiate. Ralph will be laid to rest at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverchurchofgod.com
