Rhea M. King Wightman, beloved wife, sister, aunt, and great aunt passed away way before she was
finished, but those of us who knew her dearly will cherish the times we had with her while she was
here. Being born on September 13, 1961 and having died on December 23, 2025 this power-pack of a
woman influenced all whose lives she touched through a vast number of ways.
It was back in her teens when Rhea had an epiphany that she was going to be a baker. When she
finished high school in the late 70,s she began working in the retail business at Drugmart in North
Olmsted. By 1985 she realized that she truly wanted to follow her dream and began her education at
The American Institute of Baking, beginning in June of 85' and completing her degree in December 85'.
Upon returning to Cleveland, Rhea quickly found employment at Baldwin Wallace University. In 1984
she met the love of her life, Wayne Wightman, and they wed in 1987. Soon after, the dream of a bakery
would come true and in 1990 the BakerRhea was formed and continues to run in 2025.
For those of us left behind begins the bewilderment of living in a world without Rhea. She was
preceded in death by her parents Robert and Eileen (Carmody) King and Wayne's parents Vera and Earl
Artas. Of her eleven brothers and sisters two are deceased as is one brother-in-law .Tom (dec) and
Linda King, Tim and Kathy King, Ronnie and Tom (dec) Whalen, Gerry and Laurel King, Peggy King Neumann and Randy Neumann,
Dennis (dec) and Sandy King, Brian and Sue King, Kevin and Christy
King, Noreen and Don Hone, and David King and Sue Wilhelm. Wayne's Sisters and husbands Cindy
and Larry Post, Kathy and Steve Goins. And though they are too many to be listed, Rhea and Wayne's
many nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews were the absolute pride and joy of Rhea's
life, and they benefitted from her love, her nurturing, her wisdom and knowledge, but most of all her
wonderful sense of humor. If you can't laugh at yourself then what can you laugh about. All our love,
we miss you already. A celebration of Rhea's amazing life will be held on Sunday January 18, 2026 from 1 to 6pm in the Terrace Room at St. Clarence Church, 30106 Lorain Road, North Olmsted.
