Richard E. “Red” Vitello, 77, of Brook Park, went home to be with The Lord on Monday April 29, 2024 at Southwest General Hospice in Strongsville. He was born September 20, 1946 in Fayette County, West Virginia. Red moved to the Cleveland area at a young age and he resided in Brook Park for many years. Before retiring, he worked in quality control for the Scott Fetzer Company in Westlake. He was a member of Abram Creek Baptist Church in Brook Park and served on the Pastor’s cabinet as a deacon. Red was a Christian and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. He was a great conversationalist and he never met a stranger. He also enjoyed gospel music. Red is survived by several nieces and nephews and his Abram Creek Baptist Church family. Red was preceded in death by; his beloved wife of 49 years, Pearl (nee Wilson) in 2022; his parents, Tony and Ruby Vitello; and his sister, Ruth. Visitation will be Sunday May 5, 2024 from 1:30pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00pm at Abram Creek Baptist Church, 18664 Sheldon Road, Brook Park. Pastor James Beight will officiate. The burial will be private at Woodvale Cemetery in Middleburg Heights. Memorial contributions are suggested to Abram Creek Baptist Church.
