Robert Ford Chapman Sr., 80, a life long resident of North Ridgeville, peacefully went in his sleep at his residence on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. He was born June 28, 1943, in Clay County, West Virginia. Robert graduated from North Ridgeville High School, where he and a few other students founded the first wrestling team. He enjoyed working in the yard, building things, and home improvement projects. Robert was a veteran of the United States Army, and a member of the North Ridgeville VFW Post 9871. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Linda; two sons, Randy (Jill), and Tony (Amanda); 11 grandchildren; his great granddaughter; his great grandson; two brothers, John (Brenda), and Bee Jr.; and his sister, Leah (Bill). Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Bee and Lillian Chapman; his son, Robert; two brothers, Alfred, and Delbert; and his sister, Mildred. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at 11:30am at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rev. Chuck Behrens will officiate. Robert will be laid to rest on Monday, November 27, 2023 at 12:00pm at Resthaven Memory Gardens in Avon. Pastor Dave Swartz will officiate the committal service.
