Robert “Wade” Green, 93, was promoted to Heaven on Saturday May 17, 2025, from his residence in Strongsville. He was born in North Industry, Ohio on February 16, 1932. Prior to living in Strongsville, he was a resident of Lakewood for many years and of North Ridgeville. Wade was a 1950 graduate of Malvern High School and a 1955 graduate of Kent State University. He was a veteran and served in the US Army from 1955-1957. After the Army, he came to Cleveland to begin his career as an exterior paint chemist for the Glidden Paint Company and retired from Glidden after many years of service. Wade was a dedicated follower of our Lord Jesus Christ and was a faithful member of Abram Creek Baptist Church in Brook Park. He was a former member for many years and a deacon at Grace Baptist Church in Westlake. Wade loved his family and friends wholeheartedly and he was greatly loved in return. He will be missed. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather and an excellent example of how to trust God and his Word, throughout life. He is survived by; his son, Gavin Green (Janeen); his daughter, Tracey Green; six grandchildren, Ashley Brady (Lt. Thomas Brady Jr., US Coast Guard), Bethany Green (Landry Simmons), Garrett Wade Green (Isabel Kobus), Patrick Fogarty (Katie), Ryan Fogarty, and Cara Green; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by; his beloved wife of 50 years, Margaret (nee Grimes) in 2005; one grandson, Jonathan Green; his sister, Annie Allen; and two brothers, William and Wayne Green. The family will receive friends on Thursday May 22, 2025 from 11am until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00pm at Abram Creek Baptist Church, 18664 Sheldon Road, Brook Park. Pastor James Beight will officiate the service. Burial will be private at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to Abram Creek Baptist Church. Liston Funeral Home, North Ridgeville, is serving the family.
