Rocco P. DeLuca, 90, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his residence on Thursday February 26, 2026. He was born in Cleveland on August 10, 1935 in Cleveland. Mr. DeLuca was raised in Shaker Heights and was a graduate of Shaker Heights High School. He was a veteran of the US Marines and served from 1954 to 1957. Mr. DeLuca was as an independent truck driver for many years and worked for several local Cleveland trucking companies. He was a member and past Commander of American Legion Post #12 in Elyria, a member of Ohio AMVETS Post #55 in Sheffield Lake, and a member of the United Polish Club in Elyria. He was also active at several area VFW posts. Rocco P. DeLuca is survived by: his daughter, Roxanne Harmuth (the Late James) of Brook Park; three step-daughters, Charisse Honsberger (Jim) of Strongsville, Annette Saco of Brook Park, and Gina Belknap (Wally) of Blairsville, GA; eight grandchildren, Alexandria (Puneet), Dalton (Jackie), Justin (Amanda), Cortney, Michael (Kaylee), Vanessa, Josh, and Sara; six great-grandchildren, Ezekiel, Jeremiah, Angelina, Izzy, Leo, and Beau; three sisters, Delores Sewell (the Late Tom), Doris Rodgers (Joe), and Mary Jane Hadjak (Ron); and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Karen (nee Biehl) in 2004; and two sons, Kenneth Nicolai in 2014 and Peter Nicolai DeLuca in 2025. A committal service with full military honors will be held at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Road, Seville, on Friday April 3, 2026 at 12:45pm.
