Ronald John Bayer, a longtime resident of North Ridgeville, passed away on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Westlake, Ohio, at the age of 84. He was born on September 11, 1940, in Cleveland. Ron lived a life marked by dedication to family and service to his country. He served in the United States Navy as a Petty Officer Third Class for three years. Ron was away from home a lot, while employed as a long-distance truck driver, but he worked hard to provide for the family. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of reading, fishing, puzzles, and he was a lifelong Cleveland sports fan. Ron had a soft spot for animals, chocolate, and a good meal. His hearty laugh and sense of humor will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Marlene; four sons, Frank “Pat”, Dennis, Dan, and Dave (Joyce) Knapp; his daughter, Dawn (Josh) Bayer-Raab; three grandchildren, Megan (Hayden), Josh, and Steve. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Reinhold and Elizabeth Bayer. Memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. The family will hold a celebration of life at a later date.
