Rose M. Mitock passed away on November 12, 2025, at the age of 101, amid circumstances filled with grace and peace. Rose was born on September 23, 1924, in Lorain, Ohio to an Italian immigrant family and raised in a home with seven other loving brothers and sisters.
Rose graduated from Clearview High School in 1942, and obtained a degree as a Registered Nurse from Mt. Sinai School of nursing in Cleveland, Ohio. She worked as an industrial nurse at the National Tube Company, where she eventually met her husband, Nicholas T. Mitock, who worked in the safety department. They settled in Avon, Ohio in a house they constructed, where Rose lived until the time of her death.
Rose enjoyed nature and the outdoors, and delighted in watching the birds and animals that came to her back yard to feed. She had many creative interests, including painting and writing poetry. She loved dancing, and attended social ballroom dances with her spouse and later fell in love with country line dancing. People were attracted by her joyful presence and sense of humor, and she made friends and laughter wherever she went.
Rose was preceded in death by her son Thomas and her husband Nicholas. She is survived by her daughter JoAnne.
The family welcomes friends to join them on Saturday November 22, 2025, from 10am to 12pm with the service beginning at 12pm, at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road, North Ridgeville. Rose will be laid to rest at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Avon. Father John Seabold will officiate
