Ruth E. Price (nee Smith), 90, of North Ridgeville, passed away on August 2, 2025 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. She was born in Pulaski, Virginia on July 19, 1935. Ruth was a graduate of Bel Air High School in Bel Air, Maryland and after living in Michigan, she moved to North Ridgeville in 1982. She was mostly a homemaker throughout her life, but she also worked at Bata Shoe Company and Good Humor Ice Cream, both in Maryland, and at Daisy Cleaning Service in North Ridgeville. Ruth was a proud Jehovah Witness and she attended the Kingdom Hall in Westlake. She was an avid Cleveland sports fan, especially of the Cleveland Cavalier’s. She also enjoyed Sudoku puzzles and reading. Ruth Price is survived by: four sons, James E. Price of North Ridgeville, Chris Price (Joann) of Brunswick, Bruce Price of Norwalk, and Dean Price of Lorain; her son-in-law, Richard Mangan of North Ridgeville; nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren; and one brother, George Smith (Fran) of Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was preceded in death by: her husband, James H. Price in 1990; her daughter, Cathy Mangan in 2025; two grandchildren, James G. Price, and Theresa Price; two sisters, Marie Carroll, and Nancy Bullis; and her parents, Ira A. and Darrell E. (nee Comer) Smith. The family will receive friends on Wednesday August 6, 2025 from 4 to 7pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., North Ridgeville. The family will receive friends again on Friday August 8, 2025 from 4 to 7pm at the Hurst-Scott Funeral Home, 1401 2nd Street, Richlands, Virginia, where the funeral service will be held on Saturday August 9, 2025 at 11am. The burial will be at the Brewster Price Cemetery in Cedar Bluff, Virginia. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN.
