Sandra J. "Sandi" (Godwin) O'Dell

Sandra J. “Sandi” O’Dell (nee Godwin), 87, passed away following a short illness on Saturday September 30, 2023 at Rose Senior Living in Beachwood.  She was born September 1, 1936 in Davis, West Virginia.  Sandi had resided in North Ridgeville for 19 years before more recently moving to Olmsted Township.  She had formerly resided in North Olmsted for over 30 years.  Sandi moved with her family at the age of six to Akron.  She was a graduate of Akron Central High School and she attended the University of Akron.  Before getting married, she worked as a secretary at Goodyear in Akron and then became a stay at home mom for several years.  Sandi then went to work for Ameritrust which later became Key Bank.  She started out as a teller and when she retired, she had become a Branch Administrative Manager, working in the Fairview Park, Bay Village, and Independence locations.  Sandi was an active member of North Olmsted United Methodist Church and the League of Women Voters.  Along with her family, she enjoyed spending many summers at Lakeside.  She also enjoyed reading and book clubs, concerts, OSU Football games, and singing in her church choir.  Sandra O’Dell is survived by: her husband of 66 years, Frank; two daughters, Pegeen Razem (Robert) of Lodi and Pamela O’Dell-Rossi (Joseph) of South Euclid; five grandchildren, Bridget Razem (Benjamin Henry-Marshall), Michael Rossi (Tadelech Mengesha), Colleen Remy (Marc), Nicholas Rossi, and Rebecca Rossi; and a great-grandson, Nikolai Remy.  She was preceded in death by: her parents, Carter and Una (nee Burley) Godwin; her sister, Mary Catherine Parr; and her brother, Robert Godwin.  A Celebration of Life Ceremony will be held on Friday November 24, 2023 at 11:00am at North Olmsted United Methodist Church, 4600 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted.  Rev. Hoyt Wilhelm and Rev. Joel Chermonte, will co-officiate the ceremony.  In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, North Olmsted United Methodist Church, or to Lakeside Chautauqua, Lakeside, Ohio.
