Scott Brian Shepherd

Scott Brian Shepherd, 51, of Elyria, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday January 8, 2024.  He was born October 6, 1972 in Elyria.  Scott was a graduate of Murray Ridge School in Elyria and he attended the Murray Ridge Workshop and Lucy Idol.  He was involved in the Special Olympics and he earned several medals for swimming.  He also enjoyed 70’s soft rock classics, home cooked meals, pop, and spending time with his family.  Scotty made a lasting impact on those closest to him, shaping the hearts and minds of all who knew him.  His life stood as a testament to the power of unconditional love, selflessness, and an unwavering acceptance of those who are different.  He will be deeply missed by: his father, Larry Shepherd (Bettie); two sisters, Shelley Eberhardt (Jeff), and Stephanie Orear (Tim); three nieces, Katie, Anna, and Daphne; two nephews, Daniel and Andrew; and his friends/family at ResCare and Lucy Idol.  We send him with love as he joins his mother, Kathleen Shepherd (nee Finnerty) who passed away in 2011, and beloved grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins.  Private family services will be held at Liston Funeral Home in North Ridgeville.
