Sonia M. Furry (nee Mesnard), 86, a lifelong resident of North Ridgeville, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 18, 2022, at The Avenue of North Ridgeville. She was born on October 5, 1936, in Bellevue. Sonia graduated from Capital University, with an associate degree in general education as a church parish worker. Mrs. Furry was the founder and owner, along with her husband, of the former Living Words Christian Store in North Ridgeville from 1984 to 2004. She retired in 2004. Prior to that she was a published writer of Sunday school curriculum as the owner of Living Words Publishing Company which she and her husband started in 1978. Prior to that she was a Called Church Worker and Teacher Trainer with the Lutheran Church. Sonia was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Westlake where she served in the Sunday school and as a greeter. She enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, fishing, and traveling. She is survived by her two children, Jodi Stevens (Ellis) of North Ridgeville, and Jeffrey Furry of Columbus; three grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and 12 great great grandchildren. Sonia was preceded in death by her loving husband of 53 years, Raymond Furry III; her parents, Paul and Mary Mesnard; her brother, Dennis Mesnard; and her great grandson, Noah Supple. The family welcomes friends to join them for a celebration of life service at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 27993 Detroit Rd, Westlake, OH 44145, on Saturday, November 26, 2022 at 11am. Pastor Jeffery Smith will officiate. A private family burial will happen at a later date.
