Spankie Carolanne Alfultis, 71, of Elyria, OH, passed away suddenly on June 17, 2024. She was a 34-year resident of Elyria.
Carolanne was born on October 11, 1952, to Harold "Mike" and Joyce (nee Ryefield) Alfultis in Lansing, MI. She graduated from Highland Park HS, St Paul, MN, in 1970.
After several years working in the restaurant industry, Carolanne landed her first job in the insurance industry in 1986 with Fireman's Fund, where she excelled as an account manager. She retired in 2019 as an Account Executive/Certified Risk Manager with Todd Associates after 24 years with the company.
Carolanne very much enjoyed being a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt. Her hobbies included, caring for her pets, crafting, doing puzzles, reading and traveling. Carolanne attended just about every family gathering or milestone over the years.
Carolanne was predeceased by her father, Harold "Mike" Alfultis in 2014, by her mother, Joyce Carol Alfultis in 2004, stepmother, Thelma Jean Ortquist-Alfultis in 2016, and brother, David Joseph Alfultis in 1962.
Carolanne is survived by her one and only child, Darla Erickson-Kellner and her husband, Mike Kellner. She is survived by her grandchildren: Ashley (John) Grant, Audriana (Nick) Rebmann, Michael Gronneberg, and Kayla (Sam) Puent and her great grandchildren: Riley Grant, Palmer Grant, Cambria Rebmann, Kodiak Rebmann, Nickolai Rebmann, Ray Puent and Valerie Puent.
Carolanne is also survived by five siblings; Lynn (Richard) Foust, Michael (Kim) Alfultis, Chuck (Karen) Alfultis, John (Beth Fairweather) Alfultis, and Nancy Alfultis-McCarrick; four step-siblings: Sharon (Chuck) Jeske, Kenneth Ortquist, Doris (Jim) Stone, and Dale (Gloria Osborne) Ortquist; and nine (9) nephews.
A celebration of life is being planned for August 4th at Big Sandy Lake, MN, where the Alfultis family vacationed when the siblings were kids. Carolanne will be interred at Bates Hill Cemetery, Yankeetown, IN, in October.
Memorial contributions in memory of Carolanne may be donated to the Animal Protection League (APL).
