Wayne M. Eury

Wayne M. Eury, 81, of Vienna Township, passed away Monday February 21, 2022 at UH Elyria Medical Center.  He was born December 14, 1940 in Concord, North Carolina.  He moved with his family to Ohio in 1950 and was a 1959 graduate of Columbia High School.  Wayne was a special machine operator at Ford Motor Co. in Brook Park.  He then went to work at General Motors in Elyria as a tool and die maker.  When that division moved to the Warren area, Wayne and his wife moved to Vienna Township in 1989. He retired from General Motors in 1999.  Wayne enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR racing.  Wayne M. Eury is survived by: his daughter, Sherri Atmore (Richard) of Seabeck, WA; his son, Christopher Eury (Ronda) of Napa, CA; two grandchildren, Lindsay and Justin; his sister, Sylvia Eury of Columbia Station; two step-daughters, Barbara Gochnour (Harvey) and Rebecca Plato (Marty), both of Amherst; and his step-grandchildren, Abby, Linsey, and Cory. He was preceded in death by: his wife, Shirley (nee Swan); and his parents, Elmer and Dorothy (nee Allman) Eury.  A private family graveside service will be held at Columbia Township Cemetery in Columbia Station at a later date.
