William A. "Bill" Cheh Jr.

William A. “Bill” Cheh Jr., 72, of North Ridgeville, passed away Friday December 17, 2021 at St. John Medical Center in Westlake, following a brief illness.  He was born in Cleveland on December 11, 1949 and was a 1968 graduate of Max Hayes High School in Cleveland.  Mr. Cheh had resided in North Ridgeville for 36 years.  He was a mechanic and was employed by Dominion East Ohio Gas Company for over 25 years and retired in 2010.  Bill was a member of the Parma Moose Lodge, the Teamsters Union and of Local G555 Gas Workers Union.  He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and loved his family with all of his heart. He loved telling jokes, making people laugh and he would do anything for anyone without question. He also enjoyed going to the movies with his children and grandchildren, car shows, watching drag racing, working on cars with his sons, and going to Hot Dog Inn in Cleveland.  Bill was also an avid Cleveland Browns fan and watched every game. He was deeply loved by all of his family and he will be greatly missed.  Bill is survived by: his beloved wife of 46 years, Sonja (nee Rimmer); his children, William A. “Billy” Cheh III (Laural) of Eaton Township, Heather Maldonado (Gabriel) of North Ridgeville, and Steven Cheh of North Ridgeville; three grandchildren, Isabel Maldonado, William A. “Liam” Cheh IV and Scarlett Cheh; his sister, Mary Anne Duncan (Phillip) of Elyria Township; his sisters-in-law, Debbie Bowers (Jeff) of Elyria Township and Sherry Pulwer of Elyria;  a brother-in-law, Vince Rimmer (Gail) of North Ridgeville; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: his Mother and Step-Father, Anna (nee Eckenfels) and Howard Schultz; and his Father, William A. Cheh Sr.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday December 28, 2021 from 4pm until the time of the Funeral Service at 8pm at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Rd., (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville.  Pastor Bill Shomo will officiate the service.  The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to The American Diabetes Association.
