Wilma Earlene Walker (nee Turner), 66, of Grafton, Ohio, born January 15th, 1958, entered into eternity with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on August 10th, 2024, following a lengthy illness. She passed peacefully at her home after a long battle with cancer.
Wilma attended North Ridgeville High School in the 1970s. Her greatest life calling was in raising two godly young men, and seeing her beautiful grandchildren serving the Lord was the highlight of her life.
Nothing brought Wilma more joy than spending time with family. She also enjoyed reading, thrifting, long car rides, gardening, craft shows, car shows, painting, baking, and reminiscing with loved ones. In her last days, she took delight in her puppy, Cinnamon, a treasured gift from her husband. Her life is truly a testament to the goodness of God in the face of great suffering and adversity.
Wilma is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Robert J. Walker, also of Grafton, and her beloved mother, Judy L. (Bohanan) Turner of Elyria, Ohio. She also leaves behind two wonderful sons, Johnny (Crissy) Nelson of Union, Kentucky, and Jimmy (Mandie) Nelson of Brunswick, Ohio. Her grandchildren, Jordyn (Nathan) Browning of Clermont, Florida, and Noah (Jill) Nelson of Florence, Kentucky were her greatest loves.
She will be greatly missed by her surviving sisters Sandy Turner, Sharon Turner, sister-in-law Linda Walker Pugh of Lakewood, Ohio, Missy (Jerry) Turner of Elyria, and brothers Bill (Melissa) Turner of Parma, Ohio, David Turner, Jim Turner, and Richard Turner, all of Elyria, Ohio. Affectionately known as “Aunt Kissy,” Wilma was loved by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her beloved father, James E. Turner, formerly of North Ridgeville, Ohio, brother Jerry Turner, sister Karen Anderson, along with her niece Emily Turner, whom she loved with all of her heart.
Family and friends are welcome to attend a celebration of life on Wednesday, August 14th, 2024, from 11a.m. to 12p.m. with the service beginning at 12p.m., at the Liston Funeral Home, 36403 Center Ridge Road (at Stoney Ridge Rd.), North Ridgeville. Pastor Mike (Loreen) Payne will be officiating. Wilma will be laid to rest at Brookdale Cemetery in Elyria. Donations can be made to Cathedral of Life Ministries at 5375 Jaycox Rd. in North Ridgeville, OH 44039, in her memory.
